WHEELING -- One year after falling just short of a state title, Madonna High School's football players can call themselves champions.
The Blue Dons beat the Man Hillbillies in the final game of the Super Six, 27-7.
Max Nogay was the star Saturday night, throwing for two touchdowns and running for another. The senior quarterback was 10 of 14 passing for 160 yards.
Junior Connor Alria returned a punt 70 yards for a touchdown and also added a 30-yard touchdown reception.
Man quarterback Ryan Crum was 9 of 28 passing for 128 yards.
The win caps off the Blue Dons perfect 14-0 season--the first in school history. The state championship is the second in school history and first since the 1987 team finished 13-0.
