WHEELING -- On the AAA circuit, the South Charleston Black Eagles captured their second straight state title with a 28-7 win over Brooke. South Charleston's Perry Henry had a huge game for the Black Eagles on Saturday. He finished with two touchdowns and an interception that he returned for a pick six. South Charleston finishes the season 13-1. They have won 29 of their last 30 games.
In Friday's only game, Bluefield picked up their 10th AA crown by beating Wayne 27-20. Turnovers proved to be the thorn in the Pioneers side. Their three turnovers turned into 21 points for the Beavers. One of those turnovers, an interception by Marcus Patterson, was returned for 98 yards, a Super Six record.
In the final game of the Super Six, the Madonna Blue Dons revenged their 2008 finals loss by beating the Man Hillbillies, 27-7. Max Nogay was the star Saturday night, throwing for two touchdowns and running for another. Nogay was named Most Valuable Player of the game. The win wraps up the Blue Dons perfect 14-0 season.
