SPRAGUE -- One person was transported to the hospital when the house caught fire Tuesday evening. No injuries were reported when the blaze rekindled several hours later.
Volunteer firefighters initially responded to a fire on Kent Avenue in Sprague around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Kent Avenue is located off Ewart Avenue near Southern States.
Raleigh County dispatchers said one person was transported to Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation at that time.
The fire rekindled around 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Beaver, Mabscott and Bradley Volunteer Fire fighters cleared the scene at around 7 a.m. Wednesday.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
