The search is still on for a Kanawha County firefighter swept away by flood waters last Saturday while trying to rescue a woman in Raleigh County.
Glasgow volunteer firefighter Donnie Adkins was on a raft that overturned in the rushing water during the rescue. He hasn't been seen since.
Dive teams and search and rescue dogs have now joined the efforts to locate Adkins. Teams on ATV's have also been scanning the area.
Most of the efforts are focused on Piney Creek after some of Adkins' clothing was located in that area.
Crews are hoping to wrap up the search before more rain moves into the area this weekend.
"The water level has receded quite a bit and is almost back to normal," said Assistant State Fire Marshal Robbie Bailey. "There are still deep pools that need to be searched underwater."
Adkins' friends, family, and fellow firefighters have been waiting at the command center in Beckley for the latest word on the search.
Firefighters from five counties have volunteered to cover the Glasgow fire department.
