In an effort to step into someone else's shoes WVNS-TV's evening news anchor, Lauren Weppler, is performing various jobs around the community.
Last Tuesday, Weppler was trading places in Lewisburg as dance teacher and this week she's back down in Greenbrier County again for TOOT, Taste of our Town.
Weppler had to work for the morning at the booth of Stuart's Smokehouse in Alderson. The smokehouse specializes in barbeque. Weppler had to first taste some of the products to be served up to thousands of festival goers. She tried the brisket, pulled pork and roasted corn.
Stuart then quickly put Weppler to work putting together and wrapping brisket and pulled pork sandwiches. She also had to walk the street promoting the booth and restaurant.
Stuart then instructed Weppler on how to properly smoke ribs which were also being soled at TOOT. After the rack ribs had been cooking for a while then the rack was placed into tin foil to steam with a generous portion of apple juice added.
Weppler's next trading places story will take to her to the air ways as a radio disk jockey.
