LEWISBURG -
On Tuesday Sept. 20, Weppler was trading places with a Pee Wee football coach, but this week she had to use her inside voice for when she traded places as a teacher's aide.
Weppler was welcomed into Gatewood Elementary school in Fayette County. There she was to become the teacher's aide of Donna Smith's kindergarten class.
As soon as Weppler entered the classroom a warm up task was assigned for the morning for the students was to draw why makes them special. As the students completed the task then the Weppler had to help direct the children in the pledge of allegiance, the A,B, C's, counting and reading. She also read a story book to them and helped them cut out letters for a project.
The actual teacher aid for Donna Smith's class said, Lisa Lavender said she has been teaching for years, "It's not like a job, Its' something I love getting up and going and doing. When it becomes a job, its time to give it up and let someone else have it."
Next week Weppler will be teaching a dance class in Lewisburg.
