Besides the final score, the 2012 Prospect League All-Star game was a success.

A jam packed Linda K. Epling Stadium filled with 1,501 fans watched some of the nations best collegiate baseball players show off their skills on the diamond.

Unfortunately, the West All-Stars had better skills than the East All-Stars, defeating the East, 4-2.

Five West Virginia Miners made the East roster.

Pitchers Andrew Smith, Jared Messer, position players, Clay Prestridge, Blake Roberts, and Zack Tanner all represented the Miners.

Smith started the game for the East, but only pitched one inning and struck out one.

Messer on the other hand did not fair that well.

In his one inning of service, the Miners pitcher gave up two earned runs, three hits and received the loss for the East.

Meanwhile, the three Miners position players struggled at the plate and combined to go 0-for-5 from the dish.
