As the crowds swell and swirl around the Old White Course at The Greenbrier, many are taking the time and spending the money to grab a bite to eat.

Zilda Decker traveled from Harrisonburg, Va., and she said it's vital to deal with your hunger when you're following your favorite PGA golfer.

"It's pretty important because you're going to be walking around and sweating a lot, so you want to make sure you are drinking lots of water and eating lots of food," Decker said.

The top seller at the PGA Classic is the fried green tomato sandwich.

"They love them. They have them here about every two seconds. We have customers coming up who have three or four, five or six fried green tomato sandwiches," said Willie Spence, who is working concessions at the tournament.

Concession workers said the PGA fans want hamburgers right off the grill and the hot dogs are moving at the rate of about a thousand dogs per day. Food prices at the Classic range from $1.75 for a fried green tomato sandwich, to $5.50 for a hot dog and $8 for an Angus burger. Part of the proceeds benefit the local Habitat for Humanity chapter this year.
