    A sentencing hearing was held on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014 for a Raleigh County man who pleaded guilty to illegally selling Oxycodone. In May, Gene "Butch" James, 44, of Crab Orchard admitted to charges of Distributing Oxycodone.

The Raleigh County Sheriffs department is investigating a breaking and entering that happened at Bare Roots Nursery in Daniels.

The business owner said they were hit twice in the last month.  The first time, thieves forced their way through the front door, the second time a window air conditioner was removed.

Both times thieves were able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
