The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Greenbrier County has announced that Cabinet Secretary of the West Virginia Department of Education Kay Goodwin will deliver the school's 35th commencement ceremony.
Martin Staunton is a native of Rockland County New York. He moved to Oak Hill, West Virginia and graduated from Oak Hill High School.
Following high school, he attended West Virginia University for a year, then moved back to New York City to pursue an acting career.
Martin returned to the Mountain State and began a career in broadcasting in radio at WWNR-AM in Beckley. He moved into television, starting as a producer with WOAY-TV in Oak Hill. In the early 90s, Martin joined the ranks of reporters in Charleston. He completed his undergraduate work, earning a degree from West Virginia State College in 2001.
