Trading Places at Loaves and Fishes

HINTON -

For the entire month of November, Trading Places will be traveling around the region in search for jobs which give back to those in the community.

This Tuesday, Lauren Weppler traded places at Loaves and Fishes in Hinton.

She started her day preparing more than 100 grocery bags for those who would be lining up outside in anticipation for the handout.

The USDA provides the food items for the bags. Each bag gets vegetables, fruits, breads, and meats. The bags are handed out three times a month at Loaves and Fishes.

For those receiving the bag of food like, Dorothy Goodman, it's something she and others count on each month, "I'm very thankful because if it wasn't for these people a lot of people would go hungry."

Earl Dodd is the Outreach Worker at Loaves and Fishes and he says helping those like Dorothy Goodman make his job worthwhile, "It's just like being at home."

Donations and volunteers are always welcome at Loaves and Fishes in Hinton.

Next Tuesday Weppler will be trading places at the Princeton Salvation Army.
