Boil Water Advisory Closes Raleigh County Businesses

Updated:

Due to a water main break in the Shady Spring area, Beckley Water Company issued a precautionary boil water advisory for Shady Spring, White Oak, Daniels, Beaver, and Glen Morgan. Suzy Pack, the owner of Padrino's in Beaver, said she was more fortunate than others Tuesday morning. She had already made the dough used to make her pizzas the night before. "We got our phone call this morning from the health department and we immediately went out and bought bottled water and turned the ice machines off. We're not making tea or coffee and we're selling 20 ounce bottles of soda...most people use fountain drinks," said Pack. Pack also bought waterless sanitizer to keep the restaurant open Tuesday. At this point, it is unclear when the advisory will be lifted. Consumers are urged to boil their water before drinking, bathing, cooking, or brushing teeth.
