Lauren Hensley is thrilled to join the 59 news team and call Beckley, West Virginia home!
A Pennsylvania native, Lauren earned her Bachelor's and Master's degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. During her academic career she worked on two award winning documentaries, "The Purser of Peace Pilgrimage" and "The ALT Project." Lauren also served as the executive producer, anchor and reporter for DUQ-TV news, Duquesne's student-run newscast. Lauren also studied Spanish in Barcelona, Spain.
Outside of the classroom, Lauren interned at all 3 Pittsburgh TV stations, including the Pittsburgh CBS affiliate, KDKA. She also interned at her hometown TV station, WFMZ.
When Lauren isn't covering news, she enjoys traveling (especially overseas), dancing, working out, reading and spending time with family and friends. If you see Lauren out and about; or if you have a story idea, don't be afraid to say ‘hello!'
Lauren looks forward to working in West Virginia and becoming apart of such a tight-knit community.
