BECKLEY -

The woman who was struck by a vehicle after it slammed into the window of the Flowers Bakery, on Wednesday, on Stanaford Road has been confirmed dead by Chief of Detectives, Jeff Shumate with the Beckley Police Department.

Shumate says the 75 year-old woman received leg injuries at the time of the incident. She was then transported to Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital for treatment.

Hours later, the victim was pronounced dead.

The name of the victim and the driver are not being released at this time.

Once the investigation is complete, the prosecuting attorney's office will decide whether charges will be filed against the driver that struck the bakery and the woman.
