About 40 percent of police officers have some kind of sleep disorder.
That's almost twice the national rate, according to researchers at Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital.
They surveyed nearly five thousand police officers throughout North America and found that 57 percent reported falling asleep behind the wheel at least once or twice a month.
They say fatigue may explain why accidents kill more cops than crimes do.
