Herd Reacts to Bowl Win

Posted: Updated:

Marshall's 20-10 victory in the Beef ‘O' Brady's Bowl was the team's third-straight win. And for the third-straight time, it was a close one. Facing a 4-6 record, the Herd beat Memphis 23-22. Needing to win the last game of the regular season, Marshall topped East Carolina 34-27 in overtime. In the bowl game, the Thundering Herd came back from an early deficit to win and finish the season 7-6.

Before the streak to finish the season, Marshall didn't win consecutive games all season. Wide Receiver Aaron Dobson was named MVP after hauling in seven passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Rakeem Cato went 27/39 for 232 yards and two touchdowns. Cato also threw one interception.
