With a 15-point lead after three quarters, you'd think a game would be just about over.
In the case of Woodrow Wilson and George Washington, you'd be wrong.
In a tightly-contested first half, the second-ranked Flying Eagles went into half with a 22-21 lead over the seventh-ranked and defending Class AAA champion Patriots.
Woodrow opened up the third quarter on a tear, but GW responded in the fourth to force the game into an extra session.
In overtime, Beckley outscored the Patriots to improve to 8-0 on the year.
Andrew Johnson led the team with 24 points. Taron Ayers added 14, while Cameron Shannon and Larry Terry both chipped in with 11.
Woodrow is on the road next Tuesday with a duel at South Charleston.
