
West Virginia State missed a shot at the buzzer to fall to Concord by one point in a WVIAC match. The Mountain Lions led 38-29 at half, only to see that lead diminish.
Damien Tunstalle led the team with 15 points, while Romel Kemp chipped in 13 and Cory Willard added 12. The Mountain Lions shot a blistering 46% from behind the arc.
Coach Kent McBride has been focusing on defense and winning on the road. The Yellow Jackets out-rebounded the Mountain Lions 51-38. But most importantly, it was a road win. The team improves to 8-6 overall with a 5-5 record in the conference. Concord visits Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday.
The Lady Mountain Lions beat WV State 67-64.
Jolysa Brown led the way with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Concord improves to 11-3 overall with an 8-2 mark in the WVIAC. They also are at Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday.
