BECKLEY -

A memorial to the fallen miners in the Upper Big Branch mining disaster gets another financial boost.

Alpha Natural Resources gave a $9,000 donation, Wednesday at Pasquales in Beckley.

The money will go toward the construction of a permanent memorial to honor the 29 miners killed and those that were injured in the April 5, 2010 mine explosion in Raleigh County.

The memorial, which will go on the courthouse lawn in Beckley, is now fully funded.

The final memorial will be unveiled on the two year anniversary of the disaster.
