Marshall couldn't keep pace with UAB en route to a 56-49 loss to the Blazers.

It was a poor shooting night for the Herd. The team shot 35% from the field, 21% from behind the arc and 41% from the free-throw line.

DeAndre Kane and Dennis Tinnon each scored 12 points for Marshall, which now drops to 13-7 overall and 4-2 in C-USA.

The Herd is on the road for a contest against Memphis on Saturday.
