Change is rarely easy, but leaders at Mountain State University made the right choice when they decided to move on without Dr. Charles Polk.
While we can never forget his many contributions to the school, new blood was needed. It's clear that there are many challenges for the incoming president, but this school has become a vital part of Southern West Virginia and we must do all we can to preserve and strengthen its academic offerings.
If our state is going to move forward, all levels of education must be a priority.
