BECKLEY -

Woodrow Wilson has established itself as a basketball dynasty in West Virginia. The team has won 16 state titles, more than any other school in the state.

As the Flying Eagles seek to win another title this season, they remembered a very special season, and a very special team.

The 1962 Beckley squad was inducted into the Woodrow Wilson Hall of Fame. The team is the only Woodrow squad to go undefeated. Its season ended in one of the 16 titles.

There was also an actual game at the Armory.

No. 6 Woodrow Wilson beat Wyoming East, No. 4 in Class AA, 65-53.

Christian Day led all scorers with 21 points and Ta-Ron Ayers added 10. The Flying Eagles improve to 11-2 and play No. 1 Martinsburg in the Big Atlantic Classic on Friday.

The Warriors were led by Luke Campbell's 20 points. Marcus Schofield chimed in with 10 points. East drops to 9-4 and plays Oak Hill on Monday as part of the Classic.
