The call came in around 11:15pm last night. 34-year-old Aaron Hamrick of Matheny was driving down Route 10 when he crashed his vehicle. The Wyoming County Sheriffs Department, Oceana Fire Department
The cause of the accident is unknown and is still under investigation by the sheriff's department.
A Fayette County man is behind bars and charged with five counts of uttering counterfeit checks.
Melvin Lee Romeo, 34, of Oak Hill, was arrested Tuesday.
Sheriff's deputies said he was under investigation for about a month in connection with various business deals in Fayette County.
Romeo reportedly issued checks in extremely large amounts to purchase property and services.
The checks, which ranged from $5,000 to $10,000, were returned as fraudulent.
Deputies say the investigation further revealed that Romeo was operating an Internet pornography business and had been soliciting individuals from the area to serve as performers.
He's being held in the Southern Regional Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.
