John Henry is a fascinating mix of fact and fiction, but no can deny what this man symbolizes.

He's a special figure in our state and across the nation.

Anyone who's traveled through Southern West Virginia has probably seen the statue that depicts him, but now some folks want to do a little more and establish a park honoring the steel-drivin' man.

I think this is a great idea, not just because of the legend, but because John Henry is true symbol that West Virginia workers are the best in the nation.
