Children left out of group activities tend to be less active on their own.

Researchers at Kent State University rigged a game so some children were not able to participate.

Later when those same kids had an opportunity to do a physical activity on their own they instead did something sedentary.

Doctors say this social dynamic may be a contributing factor in the obesity epidemic.
