WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS -
A four month battle over the mayor seat in White Sulphur Springs ended last week when Thomas Taylor was reinstated as mayor.
Tonight a special city council meeting was held to reunite Taylor and the city council members.
An out-pouring of support for newly reinstated White Sulphur Springs Mayor Thomas Taylor.
"Let's jump in here and help him! You elected him! I don't care who likes him or doesn't like him you put him right here where he sits," City Councilman Bobby Sams said.
City Council members agreed to stand by the newly reinstated Mayor.
And citizens attending the meeting shared similar feelings.
Over 5 people spoke out in support for the Mayor, while 1 person questioned why the Mayor fired White Sulphur's Police Chief.
Mayor Thomas said the decision to fire the Police Chief was because they two did not have a healthy-working relationship. This was his first decision made after being reinstated and said the folks of White Sulphur can expect a bright future.
"I feel it is time for me to take my position and lead this city into the future," Mayor Taylor said.
Fellow City Councilman Bobby Sams shares the same feelings and says the positive support behind Mayor Taylor has set the tone for future accomplishments.
"I know what my town can be. I'm excited they want things to change. They really want things to change we want change," Sams said.
Changes are certain to come. With the announcement of Llyod Haynes resigning, new changes are coming to White Sulphur Springs City Council.
