After more than two decades, the victims of a man who sexually abused them as children will get justice.
On Wednesday, Feb. 8, a jury in Fayette County convicted Laurence Roland Smith, III, 50, of Oak Hill on three counts of first degree child sexual abuse and three counts of child abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian.
The victims who were between the ages of 7 and 11-years-old at the time of the abuse in 1988 came forward in 2010.
Smith is being held in the Southern Regional Jail until April 2, when he will be sentenced.
