Reduce, reuse, recycle!
The Raleigh County Solid Waste Authority kicks off its kids recycling campaign.
Representative with the Solid Waste Authority made a stop at Lester Elementary.
Students received a special visitor from Kirby the robot, to kids about proper recycling.
It's a lesson their teacher, Teena Lilly, hopes will last a lifetime.
"Kids get really excited about recycling because they get to go around the different classrooms and pick it up," fifth grade teacher Teena Lilly said. "It's always kind of a test to say hey, that doesn't go there it goes someplace else. They really like to do it. It's kind of a competition for them."
Over the next couple months, students in Raleigh County will compete for 1-thousand dollars for the schools that recycles the most.
