How fast you walk and how strong you grasp may help doctors predict if you will develop dementia or stroke.

Researchers in Boston tested the walking speed and hand strength of more than 2,400 men then followed up 11 years later.

They found people who walked slower in middle age were one-and-a-half times more likely to develop dementia. People with a strong grip were 42 percent less likely to have a stroke.
