Winter weather is headed our way and for many of us that means we could find ourselves stuck inside for a while.

There are those of us that will have to head out onto the roads.  For you, AT&T has issued some tips to keep in your back pocket during the coming storm.

First, use text messaging.  During an emergency situation, text messages go through quicker than voice calls because they require less system resources.

Second, program emergency numbers into your phone.  Make sure all your emergency numbers, including family members, the hospital, police and fire station are in your phone.

Third, limit non-emergency calls.  Keeping calls to a minimum will conserve battery power and free up wireless networks for emergencies.

Make sure you charge your wireless devices.  Make sure all of your devices are charged before the storm arrives.  Car charges can be especially helpful to ensure you have back up power.

And finally become an amateur StormTracker.  Use weather apps, like StormTracker 59 Weather to track the storm.
