BEAVER -

West Virginia Public Broadcasting and the American Red Cross will host a blood drive at the television studio in Beaver on March 2, 2012.

The drive is being hosted to help with the Red Crosses year-round need for blood donations, as well as to celebrate the return of the Doc Martin television series to WVPBS. Doc Martin is a British comedy about a doctor who developed a fear of blood and had to give up a career in surgery to become a physician in a quirky village.  The series returns on Saturday March 3 with a special movie and new episodes begin March 24.

The blood drive will be held March 2 from noon until 5 p.m. at PBS's studio at 124 Industrial Park Road in Beaver. Anyone who donates will receive a special Doc Martin gift from PBS.

Walk-ins are welcome, but making an appointment is preferred. For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact Jackie Farley at (304) 254-7897 or jfarley@wvpubcast.org.
