A five-week lecture and workshop series on the people of Appalachia being hosted by Bluefield College will be getting a late start.
The series is part of a yearlong group of event titled "A Celebration of Appalachia" that features the history, culture, people and traditions of Appalachia.
The opening lecture "Appalachian Theatre" was planned for Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. but had to be postponed due to the power outages caused by Sunday's snowstorm.
Officials with the school said the remainder of the lectures scheduled for Tuesday nights will take place as planned, and the new date for the opening lecture will be announced in the near future.
"Appalachian Theatre" will be a lecture/presentation on drama in Appalachia, offered by theatre professor Charles Reese.
