Chalk up another award for Bret Blevins.

Tuesday, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association named Blevins its Atlantic Region Player of the Week, one day after he earned the WVIAC Hitter of the Week award.

In five games last week, the outfielder from Owings, MD hit a sizzling .714 (15-21) and drove in 13 runs. Blevins hit three home runs and three doubles and stole three bases as the Mountain Lions swept a doubleheader from Wheeling Jesuit on March 21 and took all three games in a weekend series at Glenville State on March 24-25.

By winning the weekly Atlantic Region honor, Blevins is now eligible for the NCBWA's National Hitter of Week award.

Teammate Ryan Weatherholtz earned WVIAC Pitcher of the Week recognition.

Concord visits Shepherd in a WVIAC seven-inning doubleheader on Wednesday, March 28. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm in Shepherdstown, WV.

The Mountain Lions return to Anderson Field for a three-game weekend series against South Division rival West Virginia State on Saturday and Sunday, March 31 and April 1. The two teams will play a seven-inning doubleheader on Saturday and a single nine-inning game on Sunday. First pitch both days is slated for 1:00 pm. Admission is free.
