New research shows doctors who perform angioplasties in the middle of the night do not increase their risk of making mistakes on procedures the next day.

Past studies have proven sleep deprivation in medical personnel can lead to serious errors and injuries.

But this study shows the risk of problems do not increase for doctors performing angioplasties who worked overnight - - versus those who were well rested.

More than one million angioplasties are performed in the U-S every year.
