Tragedy rocked two quiet communities this week in Mercer County.

West Virginia State Police said Tracey Atwell murdered his 33-year-old wife Christina at a home in Rock and left her body in the outbuilding.

From there, he drove to his parents' house in Camp Creek, where the crime spree continued to unfold.

Atwell fled the scene in his parents' vehicle, a white 1999 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, with his 8-year-old daughter Porshia.

Troopers said a history of domestic violence and intravenous drug use were a dangerous combination for an armed and dangerous man.

For neighbors, the tragedy has rocked their quiet Rock community.

The parents of a 7-year-old girl, who grew up beside the suspect, say they won't sleep until he's found.

Porshia has been missing for more than a day now and troopers say the first hours are the most crucial, but the search continues for the Atwell's in the air and on the ground.

Anyone with information on the suspect or the vehicle is urged to contact West Virginia State Police or call 911.
