Monday, April 16 is National Healthcare Decisions Day.  The formal designation was spearheaded by Hospice of Southern West Virginia and other national state and community organizations.

The effort was made to highlight the importance of advance healthcare decision-making.  Hospice held a pair of events to help seniors make these important choices.  They were held at the Fayette and Wyoming County Senior Centers and kicked off at 11 a.m.

Hospice is providing information and tools to the public about their wishes with family, friends and healthcare providers and execute written advance directives, like healthcare powers of attorney and living wills, in accordance with state and national laws.

Support specialists will have paperwork on advance directives at each location and will held those who are interested to complete the forms.
