Wednesday April 25th is the first official day to make your vote count, and in Fayette County there are changes voters will be noticing.
This year early voting isn't just taking place in Montgomery, but there is a new site now in Danese at the elementary school.
"We want to make it easy for people to vote," said Fayette County Clerk Kelvin Holliday.
The county also added one new electronic machine totaling 2,500 dollars to help in the process of speed and accuracy.
Holliday said he is wanting the county to go all electronic when it comes to voting, but he admits it comes down to the county commission's decision.
There are new trends for this political season in Fayette County. There are 30 democrats running for office county wide this year, which County Clerk Kelvin Holliday, says in 20 years, is the most he has ever seen.
"We have a lot of competitive races for instance two of three of our county commission seats are up. We have nine different people running for four magistrate seats," said Holliday.
Tuesday April 17th is the voter registration deadline, meaning if someone has changed party affiliation or made changes to a legal name then Holliday advices people to stop by their county clerk's office to cast a ballot in the primary election.
