State officials are proposing raising various taxes, including those on cigarettes, in order to raise money to repair the damaged highways.

The State Department of Health and Human Resources Bureau
for Public Health has issued a boil water advisory for the town of Meadow
Bridge in Fayette County.
The town's water system had a loss of pressure due to
equipment malfunction, which has caused the boil advisory to be issued.
Authorities advise that all water should be held at a full
rolling boil for at least 1 minute prior to being used for cooking, hand
washing, tooth brushing or being otherwise consumed.
