A popular trail in the New River Gorge National River will remain closed for yet another season due to safety concerns about its structure.
Officials with the National Park Service said that reopening the Grandview Tunnel Trail is 1 of the agency's top priorities.
According to the park's web site, the half-mile trail is the shortest one in the park. It passes through a cave-like rock tunnel and has several sections of stairs.
The park service closed the trail in the spring of 2011 after an engineer's basic structural assessment determined that the structure could become unsound
