AT&T Offers More Distracted Driving Classes in Southern W.Va.

A series of classes to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving continues in southern West Virginia.  AT&T is sponsoring the classes in honor of Distracted Driving Awareness Month. 

According to a release from AT&T, people who send text messages while driving are 23 times more likely to be in a crash.  The summits have been held in schools across the mountain state teaching students about the drastic and unintended consequences that can come from send a text while behind the wheel.

A class is being held on Tuesday, April 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at James Monroe High School.  On Friday, April 20 there will be two sessions at Pocahontas High School starting at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Students sign a pledge to not text and drive during the summit and also participate in an obstacle course while blindfolded.
