A Fayette County volunteer firefighter is behind bars and facing numerous charges.
Erik Reynolds, 22, was arrested Tuesday for 29 counts of fraudulent use of an access device and 29 counts of obtaining goods under false pretenses.
Fayetteville Fire Chief John Vernon said he has been monitoring fuel usage at the department for months now, and when he discovered the cards missing he handed the investigation over to the Fayetteville Police Department.
Vernon called the arrest "very disappointing."
Reynolds had been with the department for approximately four years.
He is being held in the Southern Regional Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
