BECKLEY -

It may have been a gloomy day in southern West Virginia Saturday April 21st, but the conditions were just right for a nice hot bowl of soup!

Many gathered in uptown Beckley for the 2nd Annual Souper Spring Fever event, in order to raise money for Theatre West Virginia.

Guests could purchase taste tickets for $5 which would get them four soup samples and a voting coin.

Organizer Jill Moorefield with the Beckley Renaissance said this was a great family event and there was something for the whole family to enjoy.

"It's just a great way to promote all of our restaurants, and organizations too"

Those who attended could also bring in a can of soup to donate to the Salvation Army in which they would receive a free taste sample.
