Posted: Updated:

The Beckley City Police Department is investigating a home invasion that happened Sunday night.

Police say it happened at 11:30p.m., when two black males between the ages of 18 and 25 entered a home at the intersection of Nebraska and Berry Street.

According to Det. Dave Allard, the armed men were dressed in hooded sweatshirts and masks.

They allegedly forced their way into the home robbing the victims.

Several shots were fired and one person was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries received during the altercation

Allard said they may have left in a small passenger car.

"Anytime you have a crime like this, it's alarming. It is some relief to know that it was director toward this house and not random," said Allard.

If you have any information on the incident, you are urged to contact the Beckley Police Department or CRIMESTOPPERS at 304-255-STOP.
