BECKLEY -
A pair of men were arrested in Beckley after an extensive investigation into heroin distribution.
Jose Castaneda, 19, of South Carolina and Diego Sanchez, 20, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance. The arrests were made Monday, April 23 at the Super 8 Motel on Harper Road.
The investigation conducted by the Raleigh County Sheriff's Drug and Narcotics Investigative Unit was looking into the distribution of Heroin in various places around the county. Officers conducted controlled buys and surveillance leading up to the arrests.
A search of the room turned up uncut heroin and heroin packaged in balloons for sale as well as $4,500 in cash.
Sanchez and Castaneda are being held in the Southern Regional Jail. Sheriff's Deputies were assisted by the U.S. Marshal's Service and the Beckley Police Narcotics Unit.
