HINTON -

A Summers County man accused in the beating death of his wife, is out on bond.

Anthony Adkins, 34, is charged with murder and child abuse.

Summers County sheriff's deputies said Adkins' wife, Heather, 36,contacted them on March 8th after a week's worth of beatings from Adkins.

She and her four daughters were taken to a safe house in Beckley.

She was also undergoing treatment at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital.

That is where Heather Adkins was found unresponsive later that month and transported to Huntington, where she was later pronounced dead.
