RAINELLE -

A routine traffic stop in Rainelle resulted in a drug related arrest Tuesday morning.

Officer James Layne in Rainelle said police discovered a controlled substance both in the vehicle, and on driver Brent Holland's shirt.

Layne said the other individual in the car was taken into police custody and processed through Rainelle's municipal court.

"The individuals were pulled out of the vehicle and detained. They gave consent to search the vehicle where 4.6 grams of cocaine was discovered inside the vehicle," said Layne.

Layne said three additional drug related arrests were made Tuesday night after an undercover controlled purchase was made.

Police suspected three individuals were involved in a narcotic distributing ring in Rainelle.

Daniel Hiser, Candace Hamons and David Bennett were arrested after robbing an informant.

"All three confessed in written statements for conspiring to commit robbery. They have been charged with robbery, or attempt, conspiracy to commit a felony, and also possession of roxycodon," said Layne.

Lane said federal agents are considering a federal investigation into this case.
