TSA to Open Second Checkpoint at Yeager Airport

Posted: Updated:

Yeager Airport will get a second security checkpoint, which will reduce waiting times during peak flight departure hours.

Airport director Rick Atkinson says that the work is expected to begin in the next couple weeks on the new entryway to the Transportation Security Administration's passenger screening area. The work is expected to take about three weeks.

Officials tell The Charleston Gazette that the airport's general aviation terminal also will undergo an upgrade. The project will include floor-to-ceiling glass walls, a fireplace-equipped lounge, expanded and remodeled restrooms, and flat-screen displays for weather and flight information. The project is expected to take about three months.
