BECKELY -

A drug bust lands two people behind bars and one person facing battery of an officer charges.

Police said they were dispatched to this apartment complex on a domestic call. But when they arrived they found more than what they were expecting.

Police said 248 marijuana plants were taken from this home at the Lewis Ritchie Apartment Complex. BUT officers say this DIDN'T start out as a drug bust.

"Miss Crouch had obvious signs of domestic battery such as torn and tattered clothing bruises on her body.  They asked if anyone was in the house as a stand investigation," Det. Sgt. Jason McDaniel of the Beckley Police Drug Unit said.

Police said 38-year old John Matthew Hosey, of Beckley and girlfriend 29-year old Kathleen June Crouch, of Lester could not agree on whether or not their two small children were inside of the home.

Police said this is when they took action to find the children----but they also found theses, hundred of pot plants.

"These drugs will ultimately stopped in their infant stage and they were stopped from ever coming to age.  And where they going to be used for personal use?  That is A LOT of drugs for personal use. So we did keep a lot of drugs from the streets of Beckley," McDaniel continued.

And the action didn't end there.McDaniel said while questioning Hosey and Crouch, 19-year old Wesley Stevenson walked into the home and tried to wrestle an officer.

As the officer got Stevenson to the ground, Crouch jumped onto the officer's back before she was finally arrested.

McDaniel said it was a collaborative effort between the Beckley Police Department and Drug Task Force that lead to the arrests and all of the charges.
