BLUEFIELD -

Expectant mothers in one southern West Virginia community will have the chance to meet like-minded people and score some free infant care items this week.

The Family and Children First Partnership of Mercer County is hosting a free community baby shower event from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday, April 30 at the Maple View Church of Christ, next to Mercer Mall in Bluefield.

All attendees at the event will receive free diaper bags filled with a variety of infant care items. They will also have the chance to win several desirable door prizes including car seats, cribs and more.

The event will also give expectant parents the chance to learn about the variety of community resources offered for their family. Many local family-serving agencies will have booths, displays and give brief presentations.
