A boil water advisory has been issued for the areas of
McDowell, Arlington and Greenbrier
in McDowell County.
According to the McDowell County Public Service District, recent
flooding caused a creek crossing to wash out, leading to a high probability
that water in the effected areas is contaminated.
Authorities advise that all water to be consumed should be
boiled for 1 minute before being used. This includes water used for drinking,
making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation.
The PSD anticipates that the issue will be resolved within
10 days.
